We are happy to invite you to submit abstracts for our 3rd annual conference, this time taking place in Tilburg, The Netherlands, on Thursday, May 18 and Friday, May 19, 2017.
The question how to reflect changes in the media markets in education for media professions has become a central issue for higher education programs in the media sector.It has also become the leitmotif of our conferences. Keeping up with this central theme, we want to discuss how we can move from “teaching how the world is” to training “how to relate to a constantly changing world”.

How can innovation be implemented into university curricula? What role must notions of entrepreneurship, management, or economics play in journalism education? How do we educate the educators? These were just some of the questions discussed by presenters and participants at the start of the 2nd Journalism & Media Education conference taking place May 19 and 20 at the Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona, Spain. Over the course of two days, more than 30 presenters from seven European countries will discuss the most pressing challenge faced by educational programs for media professions: How can programs keep up with the changes in the media market and how should we meet these changes? Should we serve the profession’s need or help innovate it?
On Thursday, May 19, 2016, our second J&E Ed.-conference will start, this time in beautiful Pamplona, Spain. More than 30 presenters from 7 European countries will be debating innovation in education programs for media professions and the role our programs should play within the media industrie.
